Description
Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting
I gave it a couple of extra days open to be sure just how lovely it was
Expansive orange
My visit to these historic cellars earlier in the year was an eye-opening experience
it feels well defined and the oak is nicely embedded into the fruit
Chateau de la Tour, Clos Vougeot Vintage:2009 Tasted blind at the SouthwoldModerate but not invasive wood sets off overtly floral red and dark berry fruit aromas that are liberally spiked with warm earth and spice wisps. There is a refined, even caressing texture to the medium bodied flavors that possess good levels of dry extract along with solid punch and power on the firm and lightly austere finale. This isnt a monster of concentration in the same fashion as its 2018 counterpart but it offers fine quality.
