Bone Manaia Hook Heru - Small Bats The infinity symbol (figure eight)Size (mm): 150 L x 25 W. Each piece is individually carved, so variations in colour do occur. A Heru is a traditional ornamental comb of the Mori of New Zealand. They were carved from a solid piece of either wood or whalebone. This item is carved from Cattle Beef Bone They were used by men to fasten their long hair up into top knots. The Manaia is a symbol of protection, and acts as a guardian against evil.
