This relatively refined CdlR should amply reward extended keeping and it is one of the better recent vintages that I have seen for this wine

There are very mild hints of match stick and exoticism to the ripe and fresh nose of mostly yellow orchard fruit aromas that are liberally laced with floral and hazelnut nuances

The wine exhibits depth and persistence with generous tones of barbecue smoke

silky mouthfeel and a minutes-long finish

Very concentrated flavors of blueberry and oak; much more elegant and refined less wild than the 2001 Lanzaga. Finishes with substantial, building, oak powered tannins that coat the entire palate. Aged in all new French barriques for 18 months. In contrast to the "regular" Lanzaga, this calls for at least a couple years of additional bottle aging.
